YOUR CARE
Informative, Supportive and Compassionate

The Nurturing Embrace of Postpartum Midwifery Care

Many mothers find themselves in a vulnerable state following childbirth. This is where the unique support of a midwife shines.

I offer a calming presence throughout your postpartum journey, a source of reliable knowledge and reassurance as you navigate this incredible time. Sometimes, a listening ear and a helping hand are all you need, but having the wisdom and experience of a professional who understands the physical and emotional changes you're experiencing, as well as the needs of your newborn, can be incredibly valuable.

Promoting Healing and Well-being

The postpartum period is a time for gentle self-care. As your midwife, I'll focus on your physical and emotional recovery, monitoring your healing and offering practical support. This might include guidance on breastfeeding, natural pain management techniques, and exercises to help you regain your strength. I can also provide helpful resources and referrals to ensure you receive the best possible care.

Empowering You as a Parent

Every parenting journey is unique. My role is to empower you to make informed decisions about your postpartum experience. I'll offer information on newborn care, feeding options, and emotional well-being, but ultimately, I respect your choices and celebrate your intuition as a parent.

Embrace the wonder of parenthood with the gentle wisdom and unwavering support of a midwife by your side. Let's partner to nurture not just your newborn, but also your own well-being as you embark on this extraordinary adventure.

Postpartum Support: Nurturing Your Journey

Building Confidence Together

The early days with your newborn are precious, but also a time of adjustment. At Homebirth Alaska, we understand the importance of feeling supported during this pivotal stage. That's why we offer comprehensive postpartum care  tailored to your individual needs.

Standard Postpartum Support:

This high standard of postpartum support provides a foundation of guidance and reassurance as you navigate breastfeeding and newborn care. As your midwife and Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I will visit you regularly in the comfort of your own home. These visits offer a safe space to ask questions, share concerns, and receive personalized support as you establish breastfeeding and adjust to parenthood.

Addressing Breastfeeding Challenges:

Even with the best intentions, breastfeeding can sometimes present unforeseen hurdles. I recognize that. If you encounter difficulties with latching, milk supply, or any other aspect of breastfeeding, I offer additional support to help you overcome these challenges.
